Aladdin, Jr.
About the Program
Dear Parents, We are so happy that a dream of ours at Seven Star School has come true. As a performing arts school we have always wanted to provide an opportunity for our students to take part in fully staged musicals. In our first three years, we had great success with High School Musical, Annie, Jr., and Beauty & the Beast, Jr. Our extensive program continues to expand and this year, we are preparing a showing of Aladdin, Jr. This will be fully staged with costumes, sets, and music.Children will continue to go to their regularly scheduled acting, voice, and drama classes. During their rehearsal time, material for the show will be introduced and rehearsed. Miss Nicole be directing the show. We feel the show and program will continue to be a huge success.
Besides offering private voice lessons, we are also going to offer two voice classes. Enrollment in three classes will automatically include the Main Stage Production rehearsals. We encourage children to enroll in an acting class, a voice class, and a drama class. Please see the Main Stage Production page for more details.
We are very excited to continue with our theatre program!
Thank you,
Donna & Nicole Aravena
Rehearsals
- Saturdays, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Tuition
Main Stage Production costs $165 without any other enrollment. Children already totaling a minimum of $165 in tuition (three classes) are eligible to enroll in Main Stage Production for free. It is recommended that children enroll in one acting class, one voice class, and one drama class; these classes are offered on Saturdays before the Main Stage Production rehearsals.
Tentative Outline
- October 15, 2011: Auditions (prior instruction will be given)
- October - March: Rehearsals, develop musical numbers, act scenes, choreograph dances
- April: Finalize and rehearse show
- May 11, 2012: Anticipated Performance (pending availability)
During the auditions, an outside observer will most likely be asked to watch to provide unbiased feedback.
A strict attendance policy will be adhered to. Missed material will have to be reviewed by your child(ren) (possibly assisted by yourselves for younger ages) and studied for the next week. We plan to post each class' weekly activities on the website.
